As a child of the 1980's, television was my second sibling. Or maybe a third parent. It was my best friend, a staple of my upbringing, my connection to culture, my community of content consumers. And I watched everything: cartoons, sitcoms, re-runs, game-shows. Heck, I even watched telenovelas with our Spanish-speaking live-in housekeeper. It's probably a miracle that I even know how to read and graduated from high school, let alone college.
